The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) convened a forum in Machakos County to review the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF) Regulations, 2025, marking a key step in standardizing and recognizing qualifications across sectors.
The event, officially opened by Hon. Stanley Kiptis, Chairperson of the KNQA Council, brought together Council members and KNQA staff to assess the proposed regulations aimed at enhancing portability and mobility of qualifications within Kenya’s education and labor sectors.
The KNQA recently concluded nationwide public participation forums, gathering feedback from stakeholders to refine the regulations. These engagements ensured inclusivity in shaping policies that will improve the recognition of skills, academic credentials, and professional qualifications.
In addition, the National Assembly’s Committee on Delegated Legislation has reviewed the draft regulations in preparation for publication. The finalization of these regulations is expected to strengthen Kenya’s education system, improve workforce competency recognition, and facilitate international comparability of qualifications.
The KNQF Regulations, 2025, once enacted, will streamline education and training standards, benefiting students, employers, and institutions nationwide.
