CS Rebecca Miano Joins High-Level Cabinet Talks on Economic Recovery

Nairobi, Kenya – Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano, played a key role in a high-level Cabinet Committee meeting focused on economic recovery, governance, and policy implementation. The session, held in Karen, brought together top government officials to discuss strategic measures aimed at strengthening Kenya’s economy.
The meeting, which included key ministries such as Lands, Treasury, Roads, Energy, and Environment, tackled policy proposals to boost capital markets, improve governance in parastatals, and enhance service delivery. CS Miano emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism as a key driver of economic growth.
“Tourism is a cornerstone of our economy. Recovery strategies must be rooted in inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation,” she stated.
Also present were Lands CS Alice Wahome, Treasury CS John Mbadi, Roads CS Davis Chirchir, Energy CS James Opiyo Wandayi, Environment CS Dr. Deborah Barasa, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau.
The Cabinet Committee aims to harmonize inter-ministerial efforts and accelerate government initiatives. Hon. Miano’s participation underscores her role in shaping policies that support Kenya’s economic resilience and sustainable development.
