KNLS Seeks Sh112 Million to Revive Key Libraries, Expand Services

The Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) is appealing for over Sh112 million to rehabilitate three of its key branches—Maktaba Kuu (headquarters), Buruburu, and Nakuru—which are in critical condition after years without repairs.
Appearing before the National Assembly’s Sports and Culture Committee, CEO Dr. Charles Nzivo described the facilities as dilapidated and urgently needing restoration to continue delivering vital library services.

He noted the Buruburu and Nakuru branches have not seen maintenance in over a decade.
