Bishop Thagana Brings Faith to the Transport Industry, Champions Marketplace Ministry

By John Kariuki
Bishop David Munyiri Thagana, leader of Glory Outreach Assembly (GOA), is taking the gospel beyond the pulpit—into bus stations, streets, and businesses. His recent engagement with Atomic Shuttle Ltd and Sacco reflects his bold push to embed faith in the heart of the marketplace.
The initiative traces back to a 2023 Christian business leaders’ gathering in Ruiru, where Pauline Wangari Muturo shared a vision to influence the transport sector through faith. Today, that vision is becoming reality.
“I met over 100 bus drivers and 200 conductors empowered by decent jobs—they can now feed their families, pay rent, and educate their children. That’s what real transformation looks like,” Bishop Thagana said.
Pauline, Chairlady of Women at GOA Nairobi Region, and John Mwangi, the young chairman of Atomic Shuttle, were both credited for their leadership. “John is proof that you can start small, think big, and change lives,” Thagana added.
During the visit, Bishop Thagana recognized top-performing drivers and conductors for discipline, punctuality, and integrity—showcasing faith as a foundation for excellence in business.
Just days earlier, on May 1st, he attended a neighborhood thanksgiving service in Plateau, reaffirming his mission of “church in the marketplace.”
“The Munyiri Africa Foundation is called to serve where people live and work. That’s where transformation happens, and that’s where God is glorified,” he said.
Next, he heads to Tinderet in Nandi County for church planting and community outreach, continuing his vision of faith in action.
