Eng. Silas Kinoti Delivers Game-Changing Road Upgrade in Taita Taveta

Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) Director General Eng. Silas Kinoti has completed a major infrastructure upgrade in Taita Taveta, delivering 7.5 kilometers of bitumen-standard roads under the Taita Taveta Roads (Package 2) project.
The newly upgraded roads are a lifeline for the region—improving safety, slashing travel time, and cutting vehicle costs. With smoother surfaces and better markings, residents now enjoy safer and faster access to markets, schools, and hospitals.
“This isn’t just a road project—it’s an economic and social game changer,” said Kinoti, whose leadership has seen KURA consistently drive infrastructure upgrades nationwide.
The project is already spurring local business growth, boosting trade, and drawing in tourism. Previously isolated communities are now better connected, and rainy season disruptions have been sharply reduced.
Beyond transport, the upgrade created local jobs and will continue to power long-term economic momentum. Kinoti’s focus on sustainable, high-quality infrastructure cements his reputation as a champion of grassroots development through roads that work for the people.
