Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene has stepped up efforts to empower local farmers and deepen citizen participation in national decision-making.

In Ekalakala Ward, Kamene issued a cheque to Ekalakala Farmers CBO to support their value addition project, aimed at increasing agricultural output and boosting rural incomes. She said the initiative is part of her broader mission to drive grassroots development and economic independence.

“Our farmers deserve more than survival—they deserve support that helps them grow, innovate, and earn,” Kamene said.

Alongside the agricultural support, Kamene led a public participation forum on the Constitution of Kenya Amendment Bill 2025. The proposed changes aim to entrench three key development funds in the Constitution: the National Government Constituencies Fund (NG-CF), Senate Oversight Fund (SOF), and National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).

“These funds are about fairness and service delivery. Citizens must have a say in how resources are distributed,” she told residents.

By combining economic support with civic engagement, Kamene continues to position herself as a champion of inclusive, people-centered leadership.
