Kakamega County Ushers in New Public Service Board Leadership

Kakamega County has officially sworn in a new Public Service Board, marking a renewed push for professionalism and efficiency in local governance.
The ceremony, held at Bukhungu Stadium and presided over by Governor Fernandes Barasa, saw Mr. James Wakungwi Sakwa take office as Chairperson, alongside board members Hon. Raphael Milikau Otaalo, Vivien Ayuma Asshiachi, and Jason Stanlake Mulama.
Speaker of the County Assembly, Hon. James Namatsi, who attended the event, pledged full support to the new team, emphasizing the need for integrity, transparency, and merit-based recruitment in delivering quality public services.
“This is a new chapter for Kakamega—one that must be defined by competence and service to the people,” Namatsi said.
The newly installed board is expected to drive reforms in human resource management and reinforce trust in county administration through fair and accountable leadership.
