Kirinyaga County MP Wakili Njeri Maina has been recognized in the United Kingdom for her outstanding work in empowering youth and women, receiving a prestigious international award that highlights her growing influence on the global stage.
The award celebrates her Tupange Kesho initiative—a grassroots program that has transformed lives in Kirinyaga and is now gaining international recognition. What began as a community-focused effort has evolved into a model of effective, inclusive leadership.
Widely regarded as one of Kenya’s most promising young leaders, Maina is known for her bold advocacy in education, economic empowerment, and inclusive governance. Her work continues to challenge traditional political boundaries and inspire a new generation of African leadership.
During her UK visit, she expressed gratitude to her supporters and hosts, including UK MP Emily Darlington, Mayor Cllr. Marie Bradburn, Deputy Mayor Cllr. James Lancaster, and several local leaders. She also thanked her Tupange Kesho team for their dedication and vision.
