Dido Rasso Leads Marsabit in Backing Key Constitutional Amendment

Saku MP Hon. Dido Rasso has rallied strong public support for the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill 2025, urging Marsabit residents to back a proposal that seeks to entrench key development funds into the Constitution.
Speaking at a packed public participation forum in Saku, convened by the National Assembly and Marsabit County Woman Representative’s Office, Rasso called the bill “a tool for grassroots transformation.”
“The time has come to protect the funds that uplift our people directly—funds like NG-CDF, NGAAF, and the Senate Oversight Fund,” Rasso said.
He credited the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) for enabling wide-reaching development in education and security, including school construction and bursary support for needy students. He also revealed upcoming plans to build a Teachers Training College and three ICT hubs in Marsabit to boost youth skills and employment.
Residents voiced unanimous support for the bill, praising both NG-CDF and NGAAF for driving real change—from providing sanitary pads and bursaries to empowering women and Persons with Disabilities through sports and welfare programs.
Rasso urged Parliament to move swiftly on the amendment, saying legal anchoring of the Senate Oversight Fund would boost accountability and strengthen devolution.
“This is bigger than policy—it’s about the future of our communities,” he said. “Marsabit is fully behind it.”
