Ruiru MP Simon Kingara Expands Devki Secondary with New Classrooms to Support Growing Student Population

By John Kariuki
Ruiru MP Hon. Simon Kingara has taken another bold step in advancing education within his constituency, with the construction of two modern classrooms at Devki Secondary School in Biashara Ward. The project, fully funded by the Ruiru National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), aims to ease overcrowding and improve learning conditions for the rapidly growing student population.
“This is not just about bricks and mortar—it’s about investing in our children’s future,” said Hon. Kingara during a site inspection. “We want every learner in Ruiru to study in a dignified, well-equipped environment that fosters excellence.”
The initiative responds to a surge in enrollment driven by local population growth and increasing demand for secondary education. The new classrooms will directly enhance teaching efficiency and academic outcomes by improving student-teacher ratios and learning space quality.
Devki Secondary School’s leadership and the local community have praised the development as both timely and transformative. A school board member remarked, “This shows we have leaders who listen and act. It’s a big win for education in Ruiru.”
Under Kingara’s leadership, the Ruiru NG-CDF has made education a top priority—delivering classrooms, desks, bursaries, and infrastructure improvements across the constituency. These efforts align with his broader development philosophy of Mtendakazi (a leader who delivers) and his campaign themes #RuiruMbele and #WeAreDelivering.
The classrooms are expected to be completed and ready for use in the coming weeks, marking another milestone in Ruiru’s journey toward inclusive, high-quality education for all.
