KTDA Hosts Taraba State Delegation to Explore Tea Industry Cooperation with Nigeria

KTDA Group CEO Wilson Muthaura and Managing Director Collins Bett today hosted a high-level delegation from Taraba State, Nigeria, led by Chief Barr Gebon T. Kataps, Secretary to the State Government. The meeting also included representatives from Access Bank, headed by Acting Country Managing Director Lilian Odhiambo.
The strategic engagement focused on exploring agricultural cooperation in the tea sector, with Taraba State expressing keen interest in leveraging KTDA’s proven expertise to develop Nigeria’s tea industry and unlock new investment opportunities.
As Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria presents significant potential for market expansion, both in tea production and consumption. The delegation expressed interest in adopting KTDA’s smallholder model, technical training, and value chain management strategies to boost productivity and commercial viability.
The meeting highlighted the potential for cross-border collaboration, knowledge transfer, and partnerships that can drive shared growth in Africa’s agricultural sectors. KTDA reaffirmed its readiness to support regional partners in building sustainable and profitable tea enterprises.
