By John Kariuki
The Kenya School of Government (KSG) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing youth empowerment through a strengthened partnership with the State Department for Youth Affairs and the Creative Economy.
In a strategic breakfast meeting hosted by KSG Director General Prof. Nura Mohamed, discussions with Principal Secretary Mr. Fikirini Jacobs centered on scaling up youth-centered programs nationwide. Both leaders emphasized the critical need to equip young people with the skills and resources required to thrive in today’s fast-changing socio-economic landscape.
The meeting assessed the progress of existing capacity-building initiatives, including customized training programs led by KSG. These initiatives are designed to close knowledge gaps and prepare youth for leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic participation.
Prof. Mohamed reiterated KSG’s commitment to youth development, noting the institution’s readiness to expand innovative, adaptable training models that reflect the realities and aspirations of Kenya’s youth.
The discussions also focused on boosting the effectiveness and reach of youth empowerment centres across the country. By aligning programs with the needs of young people and fostering innovation, the partnership aims to deliver a more inclusive and sustainable empowerment agenda.
This collaboration marks renewed momentum in the national drive to unlock the full potential of Kenya’s youth through skills development, institutional support, and strategic engagement.
