Nairobi, Kenya – May 27, 2025

This morning, women leaders from across Kenya and beyond converged at the Safari Park Hotel for a landmark Women’s Convocation. Themed “Rise and Rebuild with Faith and Steadfast Grace,” the gathering set the stage for the 22nd National Prayer Breakfast scheduled for May 28, 2025.

The event was led by the Speakers of both Houses and is expected to be graced by President William Ruto, alongside other dignitaries and international guests. The convocation served as a powerful platform for reflection, renewal, and collective commitment to national progress.

Co-Chairs of the Parliamentary Christian Women Caucus, Hon. Naomi Waqo (Deputy Majority Whip) and Sen. Veronica Maina, called on women to embrace their roles as spiritual and social anchors for the nation.

“We know the challenges we’ve faced as a country. But we also know the power of faith and unity,” said Hon. Waqo. “Today, we must ask ourselves how we can rebuild Kenya with faith, grace, and resilience.”

Sen. Veronica Maina emphasized the transformational power of prayer and collective action. “When women pray, things change,” she declared. “In 2022, it was prayer that paved the way for peaceful elections and a smooth transition. Are we ready, women of Kenya, to stand in the gap again?”

Keynote speaker Apostle Isi Igenegba, Founder of People of Influence Network in Nigeria, urged leaders to embrace a paradigm shift and commit to hard decisions and sacrifices for meaningful change. “True rebuilding requires courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication,” she noted.

Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Alice Wahome, called on women leaders to transcend political divides and unite in efforts to uplift livelihoods and foster national prosperity. “Our shared mission must always be to serve the people and secure a better future for our nation,” she affirmed.

As Kenya prepares for the National Prayer Breakfast, the Women’s Convocation at Safari Park Hotel serves as a profound reminder of the vital role women play in shaping the nation’s spiritual and socio-political landscape.
