Tom Odege Drives Sustainable Growth for Nyatike Fisherfolk

Nyatike Constituency – Hon. Tom Odege, the dedicated MP for Nyatike, is spearheading efforts to uplift local fisherfolk and promote sustainable fishing practices.
In Got Kachola, Hon. Odege distributed fishing gear, fish cages, and fingerlings to the Beach Management Unit, equipping them to improve their livelihoods while safeguarding aquatic ecosystems.
His commitment extended to Muhuru Bay, where he handed over 25 fish cages, fingerlings, and fish feeds, along with two boats to enhance rescue and surveillance efforts along the lakeshore.
These transformative efforts were carried out in collaboration with PS Betsy Njagi (Blue Economy and Fisheries), PS Kimtai Harry (Mining), and Migori Governor Dr. Ochillo Ayacko, underscoring the broad support for sustainable fishing in Nyatike.
“These initiatives are about empowering our people and ensuring a brighter, more sustainable future for Nyatike,” said Hon. Odege.
His hands-on approach and unwavering advocacy are transforming the fishing sector, supporting thousands of families and positioning Nyatike for inclusive growth.
