Ann Wamuratha Joins Slovenian President for Launch of Climate Data Hub at JKUAT

JUJA, KIAMBU – Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha joined Slovenia’s President Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) today to inaugurate the Conduit Satellite Data Hub, a landmark step in leveraging technology for climate resilience.
The hub aims to empower communities with real-time environmental data, improve disaster preparedness, and foster sustainable peace through climate monitoring and early warning systems.
“This hub is not just about data—it’s about transformation,” Wamuratha said. “It’s about equipping our farmers, educating our youth, and safeguarding our environment.”
The event was graced by Prof. Victoria Ngumi, JKUAT Vice Chancellor, Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, and other leaders. President Pirc Musar’s visit highlighted Slovenia’s commitment to global partnerships that advance sustainability and resilience.
Hon. Wamuratha reaffirmed her dedication to championing climate-smart innovations that drive economic growth and secure livelihoods in Kenya.
The hub is set to strengthen Kenya’s disaster response, data-driven policy-making, and climate-responsive development planning—marking a key stride toward national sustainability goals.
