First, the opening of Diamond Trust Bank’s (DTB) Mwea Branch marks a significant win for financial inclusion. The new branch will offer critical banking services to farmers, traders, and local businesses, unlocking access to savings, credit, and investment capital.

“Financial inclusion is a pillar of our development agenda. This branch opens doors for our people to grow economically,” said Governor Waiguru.

Speaker Murimi highlighted the County Assembly’s role in enabling private sector growth. “Progressive policies drive development. We will continue to pass laws that support entrepreneurship and financial access,” he affirmed.

The second highlight was the market launch of Nice Extra Premium, a locally made brand that showcases Kirinyaga’s entrepreneurial potential. Governor Waiguru lauded the venture as an example of county-backed innovation and a contributor to job creation.

“This brand is homegrown. It shows what our people can achieve when given the right support,” she said.

Gathigiriri MCA Benson Ngahu and Assembly Clerk Wanja Nyarari Rose praised the synergy between the executive and legislative arms in advancing Kirinyaga’s growth.

Together, the leaders reaffirmed their joint commitment to positioning Kirinyaga as a dynamic economic hub built on collaboration, innovation, and inclusive policies.
