Kihumbuini Ward, Gatanga — A major healthcare milestone is underway in Kihumbuini Ward as Kĩũnyũ Dispensary transitions into a Level 3 Health Center, thanks to the leadership of MCA and Murang’a County Assembly Deputy Speaker Hon. Moses Mungai Gachui.
The project, backed by Murang’a Governor Dr. Irungu Kang’ata, is part of a broader county effort to strengthen primary healthcare and reduce pressure on major hospitals. Once complete, the facility will offer outpatient services, maternity care, diagnostics, a pharmacy, and emergency support—services that were previously out of reach for many locals.
Construction has reached an advanced stage with tiling and cabro paving works ongoing. “This is more than infrastructure—it’s about restoring dignity and access to essential services for our people,” said Hon. Gachui, affirming his alignment with the governor’s development blueprint.
Residents have welcomed the initiative, especially its focus on maternal and child health. The upgrade is expected to cut down long travel distances for basic care and ease congestion at nearby hospitals.
Governor Kang’ata’s administration continues to deliver on key pillars—healthcare, education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment—by working closely with ward leaders. The Kĩũnyũ upgrade is a testament to the impact of effective grassroots collaboration.
As Murang’a invests in people-centered healthcare, Kĩũnyũ Health Center stands as a beacon of progress and equity in service delivery.
