Environmental Expert Daniel Wanjuki Warns: “Climate Change Is No Longer Tomorrow’s Problem—It’s Here Now”

By John Kariuki
Daniel Wanjuki, environmental scientist and CEO of Ecosave Africa, has issued a stark warning: climate change is already here and accelerating rapidly.
“Climate change is not a future threat—it’s a present crisis,” said Wanjuki, citing clear signs like the disappearance of morning dew, silent dawns, and increasingly erratic seasons. “Nature is no longer predictable. It’s sending distress signals, and we must listen.”
Wanjuki, a respected voice in environmental policy, said deforestation, pollution, unregulated industry, and poor waste management are fueling the crisis. He emphasized that these human actions are destroying ecosystems, destabilizing food systems, and threatening national security.
“We cannot talk about economic growth or national health if the environment is collapsing,” he said. “Climate change affects everything—agriculture, health, infrastructure, even peace.”
He urged government, businesses, and citizens to act with urgency. His key recommendations include:
-
Massive reforestation to restore balance to ecosystems
-
Accelerated adoption of clean energy
-
Public education to raise awareness and shift behaviors
-
Strict enforcement of environmental laws
-
Support for eco-friendly businesses
Wanjuki stressed that combating climate change isn’t just a technical challenge—it requires cultural change. “From ditching single-use plastics to demanding sustainable policies, every Kenyan has a role to play,” he said.
Through Ecosave Africa, Wanjuki continues to push for science-backed solutions and green innovation across the country. His message is clear and urgent:
“Let us not wait until it’s too late. The time to act is now—not tomorrow.”
