Mombasa Woman Representative Hon. Zamzam Mohamed joined fellow leaders in a major Eid ul Adha food drive that reached over 4,000 families in Old Town, Mombasa. The event, led by Mission Relief in partnership with local leaders, brought together residents to share in the spirit of sacrifice, unity, and compassion.
Invited by Old Town MCA Hon. Abdulrahman Anzafresh, Hon. Zamzam praised the initiative, saying: “It was an honor to stand with my community during this sacred season. Eid is about giving, and this food drive reminded us of our shared responsibility to care for one another.”
The event was also attended by former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and County Assembly Speaker Hon. Aharoub Khatri, who joined hands in distributing meat to the needy. The leaders emphasized the importance of unity, service, and cultural pride during the holy festival.
Mission Relief, known for its grassroots humanitarian work, was lauded for its efficiency and dedication. Hon. Zamzam also acknowledged the volunteers who ensured the seamless coordination of the day’s efforts.
“This Eid, we were reminded of the power of community,” she said. “The smiles, the gratitude, the togetherness — that’s what makes Mombasa special.”
