Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome today officially handed over the title deed for Lavington Primary School, ending a 15-year struggle to reclaim the school’s land lost to irregular allocations.

Speaking at the school, CS Wahome said the land, initially allocated in the 1960s, has now been fully restored following a successful investigation by the Ministry of Lands and partner agencies.

“This title deed belongs to the children of Lavington Primary School. We are committed to protecting public land, especially for education, health, and essential services,” said Wahome.

The school’s administration praised the move as a long-overdue victory and a step toward securing learning spaces for future generations. Local education officials echoed the relief, calling it justice served.

The handover is part of a wider national audit by the Ministry of Lands aimed at reversing illegal land grabs and safeguarding public institutions. Wahome urged other schools facing similar issues to report them for prompt intervention.
