Wamuchomba Makes Surprise School Visit, Champions Lunch Program for Githunguri Pupils

By John Kariuki
Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba made a surprise visit to Gataka Primary School to inspect the ongoing lunch feeding program, reaffirming her commitment to child welfare and education.
“Leadership is presence,” she said during the visit. “We must walk with our people. That’s why I’m making deliberate, random visits to schools across Githunguri—to ensure our children are fed, safe, and supported.”
Her unannounced visit was met with excitement from pupils and staff, who praised the school feeding program for boosting attendance, energy, and concentration levels among learners.
Wamuchomba emphasized that feeding programs are not just about food—they’re about giving children a real shot at success. “A hungry child can’t focus. But when we nourish our children, we fuel their potential.”
The initiative is part of the MP’s broader push for inclusive, dignity-driven education support across the constituency. She described it as “servant leadership in action,” adding, “This is not about titles; it’s about touching lives—one meal and one school at a time.”
Her visit to Gataka is one of many planned, with Wamuchomba promising continued oversight and grassroots engagement to ensure the program reaches every corner of Githunguri.
As she left the school, the message was clear: in Githunguri, feeding young minds starts with feeding young stomachs—and Hon. Wamuchomba is making sure both happen.
