Gathoni Wamuchomba Rolls Out Daily Meals for 30,000 Learners in Githunguri

Githunguri, June 17, 2025 — Githunguri MP Hon. Gathoni Wamuchomba has launched a landmark school feeding program, now delivering 30,000 meals daily to learners across all public primary and day secondary schools in the constituency.
Backed by a partnership between the NG-CDF and Food for Education, the initiative is tackling hunger and inequality in classrooms head-on.
“This is about dignity and equal opportunity,” said Wamuchomba. “No child should miss school or underperform because of hunger.”
The program is already driving up attendance and improving concentration among students. Wamuchomba, known for her community-first leadership, said the goal is simple: equalize all learners.
“I am the woman for the job,” she added, reaffirming her commitment to educational equity and grassroots empowerment.
Githunguri’s feeding program is now a national model for how targeted constituency development can directly improve young lives and build a stronger future.
