Obey Court Oder,CSRG Tells Government Over NTV,KTN,K24 Shutdown

Civil Society Reference Group has faulted the Communication Authority for shutting down three Mainstream television networks KTN,NTV and K24 for covering live Gen-z protests.
According to CSRG boss David Otieno Articles 33,34,35 and 37 of the Constitution of Kenya gives every Kenyans power to access information, express themselves, participate in protests and enjoy Freedom of the Media.
He avers that the move by CA is a glare violation of Kenyans fundamental rights and freedom which can only happens in a Banana Republic.
“It is absurd and we are back in dark days in deed.The shutting down of those stations clearly tells you that the Government is not ready to obey the law.We had Court pronouncing themselves yesterday over that matter the orders are clear that they should reopen them but they have continued to defy the same.” He said.
They have threatened to take further legal action against those officers who have refused to obey Court order.
“We shall hold them accountable in court on contempt.” He added.
