Kilifi, Kenya — Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chibule has commended The Accessibility Institute (TAI) for its impactful work empowering persons with disabilities across Kilifi County.

During a recent courtesy visit, TAI leaders Sylvia Mwarome (Programs Manager) and Suleiman Charo (General Manager) showcased their wide-ranging initiatives — from free distribution of Safari Seats and mobility aids to vocational training, startup support, and mentorship for persons with disabilities.

“These are not just devices; they are tools of dignity and independence,” said Chibule, lauding TAI’s people-centered approach.

TAI’s mission goes beyond aid, focusing on long-term economic empowerment and accessibility. Their programs are designed to break social barriers and create equal opportunity, particularly for marginalized children and adults living with mobility challenges.

Deputy Governor Chibule expressed Kilifi County’s readiness to partner with TAI and expand the reach of inclusive services. “This is the kind of collaboration we need — practical, compassionate, and impactful,” she said.

The visit marks the beginning of deeper engagement between TAI and Kilifi County, with both sides pledging to strengthen systems that promote disability rights, equity, and inclusive development.

With growing national momentum for disability inclusion, Kilifi under Chibule’s leadership is positioning itself as a model county — where no one is left behind.
