Nairobi, Kenya – The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), under the leadership of Director General Eng. Silas Kinoti, is nearing completion of the 1.9-kilometer Mama Wahu Road upgrade in Ngando Ward, Dagoretti Constituency — a project poised to significantly improve mobility, access, and public safety in the area.

The road, which provides the main access to the newly built Lenana Primary School, is being constructed using durable concrete paving technology. Now 90% complete, the rehabilitation project also includes walkways, a parking bay, and drainage systems, all designed to support safe and organized movement for over 2,300 learners, parents, and residents.

“This is more than just a road,” said Eng. Kinoti. “It’s an investment in dignity, education, and equitable urban growth.”

Built under a Presidential Directive, Lenana Primary School has become a landmark in Dagoretti. The surrounding road infrastructure, once impassable during rains, now offers clean, safe, and efficient access — transforming the learning environment and boosting local development.

Eng. Kinoti’s people-first approach to infrastructure has been central to KURA’s mission. Across Nairobi, KURA is implementing sustainable road projects that prioritize community needs, improve service delivery, and catalyze economic activity.

In Ngando Ward, the ripple effect is already visible: enhanced school attendance, smoother public transport, improved sanitation, and rising property values.

The Mama Wahu Road project underscores KURA’s commitment to delivering inclusive and sustainable urban infrastructure — and highlights Eng. Kinoti’s belief that good roads are not just about vehicles, but about connecting people to opportunity, safety, and better lives.

As final touches are applied, Dagoretti residents are witnessing a quiet but profound transformation — one that reflects the power of purposeful public service.
