Teso South MP Mary Emaase Champions Grassroots Empowerment at Inua Mama Forum

Lake Baringo, Kenya – Teso South MP Mary Emaase has reaffirmed her commitment to grassroots development through the Inua Mama Initiative, a national program focused on empowering women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Speaking at a high-energy forum in Kambi Samaki, Lake Baringo, where more than 20 Women MPs gathered, Hon. Emaase described Inua Mama as a “game changer” in the fight against inequality and economic exclusion.
“Empowerment at the grassroots builds resilience and self-reliance,” she said. “When women and youth are equipped with the right tools, they lift entire communities.”
Emaase emphasized that true development must center those most often left behind — particularly women, young people, and persons with disabilities. She praised the initiative’s inclusive design and called for its expansion into underserved regions.
She also revealed plans to launch the Teso South Chapter of Inua Mama, which will offer targeted programs including business training, access to capital, mentorship, and support services tailored to the constituency’s needs.
The MP commended the unity shown by her fellow legislators at the forum, calling it a “powerful example of collaborative leadership that puts people first.”
Her participation highlights a broader commitment to inclusive, people-driven governance. As more counties move to adopt the Inua Mama framework, Emaase’s leadership underscores the urgency of local solutions to national development challenges.
