Murang’a, Kenya — July 13, 2025 — Murang’a County Deputy Speaker and Kihumbu-ini MCA Hon. Moses Gachui Mungai has praised the county’s strides in healthcare and youth development, calling them “bold and visionary steps toward inclusive growth.”

Hon. Gachui was speaking during the launch of a new block at Murang’a Level 5 Hospital, which adds 100 beds, two operation theatres, a casualty unit, and expanded diagnostic services. He hailed the facility as a game-changer that will decongest services and boost access to critical care.

“This is more than infrastructure — it’s about dignity, access, and saving lives,” he said.

Earlier, the Deputy Speaker joined Governor Irungu Kang’ata at the Murang’a Youth Service (MYS) graduation where over 1,000 youth completed a county-led empowerment program. Thirty-five of the graduates hailed from Kihumbu-ini Ward, a point of pride for Gachui.

The MYS program includes physical training, vocational skills, daily stipends, startup capital, and a tax holiday to promote youth entrepreneurship. “This is a model worth replicating nationwide,” Hon. Gachui remarked.

Also present were MPs Babu Owino, David Mwenje, Peter Salasya, and Bishop Kiengei, who lauded Murang’a’s youth-first approach.

Hon. Gachui reaffirmed his dedication to grassroots development and called for continued investment in projects that uplift health and opportunity for all.
