Elwak, Mandera County – Mandera South MP Hon. Abdul Haro Kore has officially launched the Elwak Innovation Hub, a groundbreaking digital facility aimed at transforming access to technology and equipping local youth with essential 21st-century skills.

Located at the Elwak Vocational Training Centre, the hub is the result of a multi-stakeholder collaboration between the Ministry of ICT, the Mandera County Department of Education, and the British Embassy in Nairobi. It is equipped with 40 modern computers and will serve as a center for ICT training, coding, online learning, and digital upskilling.

“This hub is a game-changer for our youth,” said Hon. Haro. “We’re opening doors to global opportunities, ensuring our students are not left behind in the digital revolution.”

The MP hailed the project as a key milestone in his broader vision to bridge the digital divide in underserved regions. He expressed deep gratitude to the British Embassy for their support, describing the initiative as a model for effective public-private partnerships.

Hon. Haro further pledged to replicate similar innovation hubs across all wards in Mandera South, reinforcing his commitment to inclusive education and youth empowerment.

“This is just the beginning. Every young person in Mandera South deserves a fair shot at the future — and that future is digital.”

The Elwak Innovation Hub is also expected to grow into a regional resource center, offering online certification programs and remote learning opportunities.
