Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka is making waves with an ambitious push to power every public school in his constituency with solar energy—a bold initiative reshaping the face of education in the region.

In his latest move, Waithaka commissioned a cutting-edge 12KWp solar inverter system and a 20KWh battery storage unit at St. Peter’s Ndumberi Day Secondary School, enabling the institution to run entirely off-grid. The project, funded by the NGCDF Kiambu, promises uninterrupted learning and significant savings on electricity bills.

“Power blackouts will no longer disrupt learning. This is a game-changer for both students and teachers,” said the MP during the handover.

The project builds on earlier successes at Ting’ang’a Primary and HGM Ting’ang’a Secondary Schools, signaling a consistent drive toward sustainable education infrastructure.

Waithaka’s approach goes beyond clean energy—it’s about smart development. His vision blends innovation with impact, ensuring every child has access to a reliable learning environment regardless of their school’s location.

By putting solar power at the center of educational reform, Waithaka is setting a powerful example nationwide—proving that green energy isn’t just about saving the planet; it’s about securing Kenya’s future one classroom at a time.
