Mercy formally presented the book to KEBS Managing Director Esther Ngari in a ceremony that went beyond symbolism—it reflected the institution’s support for talent, innovation, and professional growth. The milestone highlighted KEBS’ role as a nurturing environment where mentorship and visionary leadership inspire staff to excel.

In her remarks, Ms. Ngari praised Mercy’s achievement as a demonstration of the caliber of professionals emerging from KEBS. She emphasized that fostering staff development not only empowers individuals but also strengthens the institution’s capacity to contribute to national and continental policy discussions.

Mercy’s book examines the legislative and regulatory frameworks shaping agricultural biotechnology in Africa. It provides insights into how science and law can intersect to address pressing challenges such as food insecurity, climate change, and sustainable farming. By bridging research and policy, her work contributes meaningfully to the broader discourse on Africa’s agricultural future.

For KEBS, this achievement is both a source of pride and a testament to its culture of excellence. Under Ms. Ngari’s leadership, the bureau continues to cultivate an environment where innovation thrives and staff are encouraged to shape transformative conversations that influence the continent’s development.
