President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga have issued a directive to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to immediately dismiss his Chief of Staff David Njoroge and Osman Khalif.
Speaking on the matter, Raila attributed the recent impeachment threats against Sakaja in the County Assembly to the actions of the two officials, who have been accused of mismanaging county affairs and engaging in corruption at City Hall.
“You must fire Osman and David Njoroge—they are the problem. If you listen to what our MCAs are saying, all fingers point at them,” Raila stated.
“You have two months to address these grievances. If not, we will not sit here again trying to stop your impeachment.” Raila added.
Meanwhile, a section of Nairobi MCAs has expressed disappointment with the intervention by Ruto and Raila, accusing the two leaders of shielding Sakaja from accountability.
