KEPHIS Excels at Mombasa ASK Show 2025 with Four Top Awards

The Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) has reaffirmed its leadership in agricultural regulation and innovation after scooping four major awards at the Mombasa Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show 2025.
The honors, presented by President William Samoei Ruto, were received by KEPHIS Board Chair Hon. Joseph M’Eruaki. They included: Best Agricultural-Based Organization that Ensures Safety Information in Agricultural Products, Best Government Stand Interpreting the Current Show Theme, Best Innovation and Invention Stand, and Best Local Stand in Strategies of International Trade and Exports.
Chairman M’Eruaki praised the KEPHIS team for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding farmers and strengthening Kenya’s agricultural systems. He noted that the awards validate the institution’s pivotal role in seed certification, laboratory analysis, phytosanitary safeguards, and port inspections that keep Kenyan products competitive both locally and internationally.
“These awards confirm that KEPHIS remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard the integrity of agriculture in Kenya while supporting farmers to thrive in global markets,” he stated.
KEPHIS’s strict quality assurance and innovative approaches have been instrumental in boosting food security, raising farmer incomes, and expanding export opportunities. The agency has pioneered modern testing technologies and practical solutions to combat pests, diseases, and evolving market demands.
The recognition at the Mombasa Show underscores the critical role of innovation in agriculture. Farmers, traders, and the public were invited to visit the KEPHIS stand at the Mkomani Showground from September 3–7, 2025, to engage with experts on seed quality, plant health, and trade facilitation.
