Kenya to Host 25th EAC MSMEs Trade Fair in Nairobi This November

Nairobi, Kenya – Kenya will host the 25th East African Community (EAC) MSMEs Trade Fair in Nairobi from November 7 to 16, 2025, Principal Secretary for MSMEs Susan Mang’eni has announced.
The confirmation followed her chairing of the second Regional Steering Committee meeting, which brought together delegates from all eight EAC member states. This year’s edition marks the silver jubilee of the regional fair since its launch in 1999 and will be hosted in Kenya for the seventh time, coinciding with President William Ruto’s tenure as chair of the EAC Summit.
Mang’eni said the Nairobi fair will serve as both a marketplace and a platform for regional integration, showcasing innovation, strengthening cross-border trade, and reviewing milestones in the EAC journey.
For the first time, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the bloc’s newest member, will participate, underscoring deeper integration and diversity in the region.
With a combined population of over 300 million, the EAC represents a high-potential emerging market. The fair will highlight MSMEs’ role in unlocking value chains, promoting industrial growth, and tackling youth unemployment—identified as one of the region’s most pressing challenges.
This year’s event will also feature international exhibitors, aligning with the AfCFTA Youth and Women in Trade Protocol and the International Trade Centre’s Global Call to Action for MSMEs, focusing on access to finance, digitisation, green transition, and inclusion of women and youth.
“The 25th EAC MSMEs Trade Fair will celebrate integration while positioning East Africa as a competitive global trade player,” Mang’eni said.
