The program, facilitated through the Gathoni Wamuchomba Africa Foundation, seeks to equip young people with advanced agricultural skills to boost Kenya’s food security and agribusiness sector.

Speaking during the send-off in Kiambu, Hon. Wamuchomba said the initiative is designed to empower youth with practical knowledge and global exposure that will translate into local impact.

“This program is about creating opportunities for our youth to learn, grow, and return home equipped to make a tangible impact in agriculture,” she said.

The foundation identifies promising young people passionate about agriculture and supports them through comprehensive training that combines theory and hands-on practice.

Education stakeholders lauded the initiative, saying it will help transform agriculture into a viable career path for youth while addressing challenges in food production.

This marks the second cohort to benefit from the scholarship, following the success of the pioneer group. Hon. Wamuchomba said she remains committed to expanding opportunities for young people, emphasizing education, empowerment, and sustainable development as key pillars of her leadership.
