Residents of Banisa Constituency, Mandera County, are celebrating improved connectivity following the construction of a high-quality road by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).

The newly completed 5-kilometer road in Banisa township was built in record time, significantly easing movement in the area. Locals have hailed the project as a game changer, transforming the once-neglected town.

“We have seen a lot of improvement. The town is now accessible, and dust is a thing of the past. This is the Kenya we want,” said Mohamed Aden, a resident.

Community members have called on President William Ruto to allocate more resources to the region, emphasizing that better infrastructure will drive development and end marginalization.

“We can now access hospitals because of the good road,” another resident noted.

The project is part of the lasting legacy of the late MP Hassan Kulow Maalim, who championed development in Banisa before his passing in April 2023. His efforts in roads, education, and infrastructure continue to impact the constituency positively.

Despite his demise, his vision for a thriving Banisa lives on, with more development projects currently underway.
