Busia County Government Workers Union has warned Busia Governor Paul Otuoma to stop using staff for his political advances.
They claim that the governor has been coercing staff to contribute and fund campaign merchandise branded ” GOVERNOR OTUOMA 5 TENA”
According to a staff who did not want his name mentioned they were threatened to comply failure to which they will be sacked.
“I hope this finds you well. We are preparing for the forthcoming ODM 20th anniversary on 28th this month. We suggested that we need to look different from other visitors coming for the function. We are doing merchandise we are doing Polo T shirts written on GOVERNOR OTUOMA 5 TENA on the back.
We are contributing 1000 each for the T shirts.” The message to County Staffs reads.

“Our members in deed complained of this coercion and as a union we are not going to allow it in Busia County. We are also waiting for some relevant evidence so that we can sue Governor Otuoma for his unlawful actions. Employment Act of 2007 is clear that they should not engage in political activities.” Union dispatch reads in part.
