CS Mutahi Kagwe Congratulates New KTDA Chairman, Pushes for Tea Sector Reforms

Nairobi, Kenya – Agriculture and Livestock Development Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has congratulated Geoffrey Chege Kirundi on his election as the new Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) National Chairman and discussed key reforms to strengthen the tea sector.
In a meeting at Kilimo House, CS Kagwe and Chairman Kirundi focused on market diversification, quality enhancement, and farmer income improvement, aiming for long-term industry sustainability.
CS Kagwe reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting smallholder tea farmers, advocating for value addition and innovative marketing to position Kenyan tea as a premium global brand.
