CS Alice Wahome Launches Committee to Review National Construction Authority Act

Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development, Alice Wahome, has launched a committee to review the National Construction Authority (NCA) Act (2011) and NCA Regulations (2014) to align them with industry needs and global best practices.
Speaking at the launch, CS Wahome emphasized the need for modernization in construction regulations, stating that the review represents a necessary evolution for the sector.
Principal Secretary for Public Works, Joel Arumonyang, expressed confidence in the committee’s expertise, while NCA Board Chair Mercy Okiro described the initiative as a turning point for the industry.

NCA Executive Director Eng. Maurice Akech noted that the review would streamline operations, enhance compliance, and promote innovation in the construction sector.
The reforms aim to address regulatory gaps, compliance issues, and emerging trends, ensuring sustainable growth, efficiency, and safety in Kenya’s construction industry.
