Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki Mwangi, Founder and CEO of Together As One and Comfort Homes, has urged Kenyans to embrace tree planting as a powerful gesture of renewal and environmental stewardship.
Speaking early Friday, Dr. Kariuki emphasized that Easter—symbolizing new beginnings and growth—is the perfect time to give back to nature. “Planting trees during Easter is not only a celebration of life and forgiveness, but a commitment to sustainability and future generations,” he said.
A passionate conservationist Dr. Kariuki described trees as “the lungs of the planet,” highlighting their critical role in enhancing biodiversity, increasing green cover, and combating climate change.
Through his organizations, Together As One and Comfort Homes, Dr. Kariuki is distributing free seedlings to communities. He underscored that the initiative fosters not only environmental healing but also community unity. “Tree planting brings people together in a shared mission to protect our environment. It builds awareness, sparks education, and nurtures hope,” he noted.
Dr. Kariuki added that practicing environmental stewardship is a civic duty. “Each tree planted is a step toward restoring our planet’s balance and leaving a legacy of care.”
