The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has completed the construction of the 1.3-kilometer Kayahwe–Muchungucha–Gacharu Road in Murang’a, furthering its mission to strengthen urban infrastructure across the country.
Under the leadership of Director General Eng. Silas Kinoti, the project is already transforming mobility in the area. Residents now enjoy easier access to schools, health facilities, and markets, with the road serving as a crucial link to daily services and economic activity.
Local leaders and residents have praised the development, citing reduced travel time, lower transport costs, and a boost to local commerce. “This road will not only ease movement but also unlock new economic opportunities for our community,” said one resident.
The improved infrastructure is expected to benefit small businesses and service providers, while also attracting future investment in the region. The project aligns with the national goal of promoting inclusive growth and equitable development.
Eng. Kinoti’s leadership at KURA has been pivotal in driving forward projects that prioritize connectivity in both urban and peri-urban communities. The completion of this road adds to a growing list of impactful initiatives under his stewardship.
The Kayahwe–Muchungucha–Gacharu Road stands as a testament to the power of infrastructure in linking people, improving livelihoods, and shaping a more connected Kenya.
