Doha, Qatar – May 2, 2025 — Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to protecting and empowering its citizens abroad during a high-level meeting with Mr. Ahmad Al Obaidly, CEO of Mowasalat, Qatar’s national transport company.
During her official visit to Doha, PS Njogu, accompanied by Kenya’s Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mohamed Nur Adan, engaged Mowasalat leadership in meaningful dialogue focused on improving the welfare of Kenyan workers employed across the company.
Mowasalat’s CEO lauded Kenyan employees—who serve in roles from drivers and technicians to ICT staff—as among the most “professional, adaptable, and reliable” in the organization. PS Njogu emphasized that this engagement was not ceremonial but part of a broader strategy to ensure the wellbeing of all Kenyans abroad, with a focus on mental health, fair labor practices, and community inclusion.
“This is about more than diplomacy. It’s about ensuring that Kenyans abroad are treated with dignity and that their contributions are recognized,” she said.
The meeting is part of the government’s broader diaspora engagement plan, signaling increased oversight and support for Kenyan expatriates globally.
