Kenya is set to welcome more than 6,500 delegates from 40 countries at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, taking place in Nairobi from October 1 to 3. Themed “Sustainable Tourism Growth: Unlocking Africa’s Potential,” the expo will spotlight intra-African collaboration, responsible travel, and transformative opportunities within the continent’s tourism sector.
Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) CEO June Chepkemei said the event aligns with Kenya’s broader strategy to position itself as a continental tourism hub and a global leader in sustainable travel.
“MKTE 2025 presents an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen partnerships across Africa, promote sustainable tourism, and showcase the diversity and richness of our continent. Kenya is proud to lead this conversation,” she said.
The expo will focus on key issues such as regional integration, technology in travel, and inclusive tourism development—all aimed at boosting Africa’s share of the global tourism market. It also supports Kenya’s ambitious goal of attracting 5.5 million international visitors by 2027.
MKTE 2025 will feature exhibitions, policy dialogues, business-to-business meetings, and destination marketing forums, creating a dynamic space for tourism boards, policymakers, tour operators, and travel professionals to connect and collaborate.
Kenya’s hosting of MKTE underscores its growing stature as a top MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination, offering world-class infrastructure, diverse attractions, and a firm commitment to sustainability.
