Waikenda Exposed: Sakaja Launches Probe into ‘Extortion Ring’ in Parking Department

Sources close to the ongoing investigation claim that Chief Officer Waikenda has established a “special team” of officers, reportedly led by individuals identified only as Mr. Kevin and Pamela, along with two other officers. This team is allegedly clamping vehicles late at night and demanding bribes of up to KSh 50,000 from motorists, a practice said to be in direct contravention of county regulations.
An anonymous source, privy to the investigation, expressed grave concerns about the alleged misconduct. “His appetite for money is worrying. You remember this is the same problem we had with former Chief Officer Nyamu. Waikenda has become a cartel in this department, but we shall not relent in smoking him out, even if it means taking this file to the National Intelligence Service or the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC),” the source stated emphatically.
The Investigation Department has clarified that clamping of vehicles beyond 4:30 PM is unlawful and any officer engaging in such activity is acting against county by-laws.
“We shall deal with them. We can’t allow Waikenda and his rogue officers to taint the image of this great County. We shall expose them and his rogue officers. Imagine clamping someone’s vehicle at night and asking for bribes? No, no, no, we can’t allow that,” another official from the department added, underscoring the seriousness with which the county is treating these allegations.
The investigation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen what actions will be taken should the allegations against Chief Officer Waikenda and his alleged team be substantiated.
