Speaking during the handover ceremony, Hon. King’ara said the motorbikes, provided under the constituency’s Economic Empowerment Program, are intended to promote financial independence and unlock income opportunities for young people.

“This initiative is about more than transportation — it’s about restoring dignity, creating ownership, and giving our youth a real shot at economic freedom,” said the MP.

The beneficiaries, selected from vetted and registered SACCOs, welcomed the support, noting it will reduce their reliance on high-interest loans and enable them to support their families, invest in savings, and grow their small businesses.

King’ara emphasized his continued commitment to youth-focused development programs that drive self-reliance, innovation, and job creation in the constituency. He called on the private sector and development partners to complement government efforts by investing in scalable, community-led economic initiatives.

“We are building a Ruiru where every young person has a chance to succeed through hard work and enterprise,” he said.

The MP also hinted at upcoming programs targeting vocational training, digital skills, and SME support to expand the impact of the empowerment drive.
