The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife has signed a KSh 15 million sponsorship agreement between Magical Kenya and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), leveraging the popularity of the Harambee Stars to promote the country as a global sports tourism destination.

Announced by the Ministry, the partnership will see Kenya’s national football team become official tourism ambassadors, donning the Magical Kenya brand during international matches and tournaments.

Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano lauded the partnership as a visionary approach to branding Kenya through sport.

“This sponsorship is not just about supporting Harambee Stars—it’s about leveraging the unifying power of sports to promote our vibrant culture, rich heritage, and diverse tourism experiences to the world,” said CS Miano.

Traditionally known for its world-famous safaris and breathtaking landscapes, Kenya is now expanding its tourism strategy to include non-traditional avenues like sports, film, and cultural diplomacy. This new deal marks a turning point in how the country markets itself to the world.

“This collaboration is just the beginning,” Miano added. “We look forward to working with FKF and other partners to create deeper global connections through sports and attract more visitors to destination Kenya.”

The Ministry believes this fusion of football and tourism will resonate especially with younger audiences and international sports fans, helping to position Kenya as a modern, diverse, and must-visit destination.

From the Maasai Mara to the Swahili coast, the aim is to connect Kenya’s natural beauty and cultural richness with the global appeal of football—presenting a compelling reason for tourists to explore the country.

As symbols of national pride and talent, the Harambee Stars provide a powerful platform to inspire travel, investment, and renewed global interest in Kenya.

This innovative partnership is part of a broader national strategy to transform the country into a multi-dimensional destination where nature, adventure, and now football, all work in harmony to tell Kenya’s story.
