Speaking during the Nairobi Women’s Hospital College graduation ceremony at Jamhuri Showground, Ndegwa challenged young women to place themselves at the center of innovation, research, and professional excellence.

“I urge learners not to ignore natural sciences, as they provide vast opportunities. Nursing and other medical sciences continue to open doors for many, and STEM subjects remain a pathway to meaningful careers across the globe,” she said.

The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Aurelia Chepkirui Rono, Principal Secretary in the State Department for Parliamentary Affairs, who commended the graduates for their resilience and encouraged them to pursue their ambitions with confidence.

Ndegwa further praised College Principal Ruth Osoo for extending KEWOTA an invitation, noting that partnerships between institutions of learning and women’s organizations are vital in shaping future leaders.

Her remarks align with KEWOTA’s broader mission of empowering women through mentorship, advocacy, and leadership training. The association continues to champion initiatives that encourage girls to break barriers and thrive in fields traditionally dominated by men.

By rallying girls to embrace STEM, Ndegwa reaffirmed KEWOTA’s belief that equipping women with knowledge and skills is central to building an inclusive, innovative, and prosperous society.
