Deepak Rajoriya: Exposed Tax Fraud Mastermind Draining Kenya’s Economy

Kenya’s fragile economy is under siege from ruthless tax cheats — and at the center of the storm is Deepak Rajoriya, Director of Oki General Trading Kenya Limited, now unmasked as the architect of a multimillion-dollar tax evasion racket.
Recent Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) raids uncovered a scheme involving the illegal importation of perfumes worth more than USD 300,000 (KSh 39 million). Shockingly, the consignment was cleared with just KSh 2 million in duty — a fraction of the actual tax liability.
This was no clerical error. Investigations reveal a deliberate racket executed through a web of shell companies, including Satnam Limited and Satnam Kenya Investment Limited, designed to manipulate import paperwork and conceal the fraud.
Even more brazen, Karan Badlani, a director of Satnam Limited, lived in Kenya for over two and a half years without a valid visa — openly flouting immigration and tax laws while operating with apparent impunity.
At the heart of the scam is the Rajoriya–Badlani partnership:
- Rajoriya manipulates import documents and duty declarations.
- Badlani provides cover through rotating shell companies.
Together, they run a network designed to siphon profits abroad while dumping the tax burden on ordinary Kenyans.
Every fraudulent consignment cleared under their scheme represents stolen public resources:
- Money meant for hospitals is diverted into private pockets.
- Money for schools, roads, and jobs is funding lavish lifestyles for fraudsters.
This is not business — it is economic sabotage.
Experts warn that cosmetic raids are no longer enough. To send a strong message, KRA must:
- Impose crippling tax penalties on Oki General Trading.
- Prosecute Rajoriya, Badlani, and their accomplices for fraud, forgery, and economic sabotage.
- Seize assets, blacklist their companies, and bar them from doing business in Kenya.
Kenya cannot remain a playground for looters hiding behind corporate fronts. The era of tax evasion masterminds must end — starting with Rajoriya, Badlani, and Oki General Trading being held fully accountable.
