Mutuini Level Four Hospital’s 400-Bed Wing to Be Completed in October

The long-awaited 400-bed capacity wing at Mutuini Level Four Hospital in Dagoreti South is set for completion in October, marking a major boost to healthcare access in Nairobi’s west.
Officials from the Department of Defence (DoD), led by Col. Gabriel Muchoki, inspected the facility on Friday and expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that final touches were underway. The project has been implemented by the Kenya Defence Forces.
During the visit, the DoD team held discussions with hospital CEO Dr. Martin Wekesa Wafula and the contractor, who confirmed that all major works had been finalized.
The new wing will feature a 45-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 24 Intensive Care Units, 24 Pediatric Intensive Care Units, three fully equipped theatres, as well as CT scan and orthopedic machines.
According to Dr. Wafula, the expanded hospital will serve over 400,000 residents from Dagoreti and neighboring constituencies, significantly easing pressure on other health facilities in Nairobi.
The hospital is also set to be renamed Mama Rachael Ruto Hospital, with an official launch expected before the end of the year.
“This facility will be a game-changer in delivering quality healthcare to thousands of families,” Dr. Wafula
