Joy greeted the swearing in of the newly sworn members of the Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (Amec).
Led by their new Chairman Symon Mbakah, the members who were elected late last year in Kakamega vowed to work closely with the Government of the day.
They promised to reach out to counties, Council of Governors, and their partners to accelerate more developments.
Speaking during the swearing in ceremony conducted by commissioner of oaths Linet Wataka at their headquarters at Kenyatta Hospital, Mbakah insisted they will make noise where possible and correct some of the issues which appeared to be a major challenge.
He said the covid-19 menace affected the Association but noted the future looks bright.
“As incoming office, we shall roll off our sleeves by working together with our partners, we want everybody to enjoy the impact of this office. We shall chat the way forward by giving out our road map. Above all, we shall be working closely with all counties, Council of Governors, Ministries and all our partners. We shall also work with the Government in order to attain our goals and objective” noted Mbakah amid thunderous cheers.
He lauded the newly sworn officials and in particular praised the secretary General Engineer Millicent Akooh for her great contribution in the last few years that earned her the head of state commendation.
He described her as a big plus for the entire Association.
Several members led by former Assistant secretary Sellah Aseso, women representative Beth Njaramba opted not to contest their positions.
Others who opted out included Anne Rose Gitau, and Pascal Njoka respectively.
“We have lined up alot of activities. We shall be having events; running quarterly like workshops, trainings global celebrations days, global women activities, global environmental days among other activities,” he added.
Speaker after another lauded the newly sworn officials and promised to support them to activate their activities.
Other sworn in officials include Vice Chairman Marvin Nandwa with Eng. Millicent Alooh as the Secretary General.
Khalif Dekow took the Organising secretary docket while Amos Mamati sworn in as the treasurer with Felix Kariboro his assistant.
The Council members include Edward Matekwa and Nelson Kariuki.
