Westlands Member of Parliament who is contesting for Nairobi gubernatorial race has today announced through his ardent supporters that he will not be humiliated nor intimidated to step down for any candidate.
Mulembe nation leaders led by Vincent Shimoli have declared that ODM leader Raila Odinga will fly the presidential flag with a deputy from Mt. Kenya region and that the Nairobi seat should be left for the Luhya Community.
“We are 100% sure that Wanyonyi will win, we have the numbers. We are the largest in population here in Nairobi,” he said.
This follows news on social media alleging that he will defend his Westlands seat to pave way for Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and industry (KNCCI) president Richard Ngatia who has shown interest for City Hall.
Wanyonyi has said there will be fair party nominations and he is ready to face his rival right from there.
The party primaries are set for April this year.
News from a credible source has told Top News that Ngatia is the Azimio La Umoja preferred candidate and will be deputized by Makadara Mp George Aladwa.
In a meeting attended by Mulembe Nation leaders drawn from 85 Nairobi wards, Rose Rapando representing women in local community said the gospel of Tim Wanyonyi governorship will be preached to all corners of Nairobi and will leave no stone unturned all the way to City Hall.
“We only have this one leader we have unanimously agreed to support all through to the city top position in the coming general elections. We have settled on the matter and want to assure Nairobians that this time we are united and will have Wanyonyi on the ballot for Nairobi governorship,” said Mrs Rapando.
The leaders also rebuked the uncouth behavior of some leaders who have been going to hotels and decide on behalf of the community to support a candidate after receiving handouts.
